Hi Mamas,
Have you ever noticed that the minute you walk through your front door after vacation, your brain stops thinking about all the incredible memories you just made... and immediately starts making a mental list of everything you need to do?
Laundry. Groceries. Emails. Work. Meal planning. Back-to-school prep.
As working moms, it's so easy to feel like we're already behind before we've even unpacked our suitcases.
In today's episode, I'm sharing six simple ways to reset after vacation without feeling overwhelmed so you can transition back into everyday life with more peace, less stress, and a whole lot more intention.
After returning home from an unforgettable two-week family trip to Spain, I realized one of the biggest lessons I brought home had nothing to do with travel. It was the reminder that vacation isn't an interruption to your life… it is your life. And instead of rushing to "catch up," maybe what we really need is a gentle reset.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Why giving yourself a buffer day after vacation can make all the difference
How to avoid trying to reset your entire life in one day
Why rebuilding your routines matters more than having a perfectly clean house
The mindset shift that will help you stop feeling like you're constantly behind
How choosing just ONE reset can reduce overwhelm and build momentum
Simple ways to bring the slower, more intentional feeling of vacation home with you
If you're heading back to work, preparing for back-to-school season, or simply feeling overwhelmed after time away, this episode will help you reset with grace instead of guilt.

Hi Mamas,
Have you ever noticed that the minute you get home from vacation, your brain immediately shifts into productivity mode?
Laundry. Groceries. Emails. Work. The never-ending to-do list.
As working moms, it's easy to convince ourselves that we're already behind before we've even unpacked our suitcases.
But what if vacation wasn't an interruption to your life?
What if it was your life?
In today's Monday Mindset episode, I'm sharing a simple but powerful mindset shift inspired by our recent family trip to Spain—one that reminded me that the memories we make, the moments we slow down, and the time we spend with the people we love aren't distractions from life... they're the reason we work so hard in the first place.
Before you dive back into your busy schedule, this episode will encourage you to pause, reflect, and choose one thing you want to carry home from your vacation besides your suitcase.
In this episode, we'll talk about:
✨ Why working moms often feel "behind" the moment vacation ends
✨ The mindset shift that helped me stop trying to catch up
✨ Why being present is more important than being productive
✨ How to bring the best parts of vacation into your everyday life
✨ One simple question that can change the way you start your week
💛 This Week's Monday Mindset Challenge
Before you jump back into your to-do list, ask yourself:
"What's one feeling, one habit, or one moment from my vacation that I want to carry into this week?"
Choose just one.
Maybe it's slowing down at dinner.
Taking an evening walk.
Putting your phone away for an hour.
Or simply giving yourself permission to be fully present.

Hi Mamas,
Have you ever had one unexpected moment make you feel like all your plans were about to fall apart?
That's exactly what happened to my family just 36 hours before we were supposed to leave for Spain.
In this episode, I'm sharing the story of the huge curveball that had us questioning whether we'd even make the trip… and the three mindset shifts that helped me move from panic and overwhelm to problem-solving.
Life is always going to throw us unexpected challenges. Whether it's something happening at work, a financial setback, a parenting struggle, or an unexpected health issue, we can't always control what happens to us. But we can control how we respond.
One simple question completely changed my perspective:
"What's my next best step?"
Instead of trying to solve the entire problem, I focused on taking one step at a time… and that's exactly what I hope you'll do the next time life throws you a curveball.
In this episode, I share:
✨ The unexpected event that almost caused us to cancel our family vacation to Spain.
✨ Why trying to solve the entire problem often creates more overwhelm.
✨ The three mindset shifts that helped me move forward when everything felt uncertain.
✨ How I used ChatGPT as a brainstorming and problem-solving tool during one of our most stressful weekends.
✨ Why different doesn't automatically mean ruined—and how some of life's biggest curveballs often become our favorite memories.
My Three Takeaways
💛 Accept reality faster.
I didn't have to like what was happening, but accepting it allowed me to stop wishing things were different and start looking for solutions.
💛 Focus on what you can control.
I couldn't magically heal Michael's ankle, but I could research options, make backup plans, adjust our expectations, and keep moving forward.
💛 Don't let one problem steal your joy.
Our vacation looked different than we originally imagined, but different didn't mean ruined. In fact, some of our favorite memories came from the very thing we thought might derail the trip.
This Week's Reflection
The next time life throws you a curveball, pause and ask yourself:
"What's my next best step?"
You don't have to have the entire plan figured out today.
You just have to keep moving forward, one step at a time.

Hi Mamas,
Have you ever felt like your mind was racing with everything that could go wrong?
The work deadlines. The parenting challenges. The never-ending to-do list. The unexpected curveballs that seem to show up at the worst possible time.
This week I’m sharing how a simple shift in perspective helped me move from feeling completely overwhelmed to taking productive action.
Recording from Valencia, Spain, on my iphone (so please give me grace with the sound quality!_ I reflect on why we often become overwhelmed… not because we have too much to do, but because we're trying to solve tomorrow's problems before we've taken today's first step.
I also share an important lesson I’ve taught my own kids for years: when life gets messy, you don't have to have all the answers…you just need to know your next right step.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Why overwhelm often comes from trying to solve everything at once.
The one question that can help you quiet an anxious, racing mind.
Why clarity comes from taking action… not waiting until you have all the answers.
A parenting lesson Kerri hopes her kids never forget.
A simple challenge to help you feel calmer and more intentional this week.
This Week's Mindset Shift
"Overwhelm fades when you stop trying to solve everything and simply ask, 'What's my next best step?'"
💛 This Week's Challenge
The next time you catch yourself spiraling, pause before trying to solve the entire problem.
Instead, ask yourself:
"What's my next best step?"
Then take that one step before worrying about the next one.
Small, intentional steps create momentum—and momentum leads to clarity.

Hi Mamas,
Have you ever found yourself saying...
"We should definitely get together sometime!"
...and then months go by?
You're not alone.
As working moms, we're balancing careers, parenting, marriages, household responsibilities, and everything in between. Friendships often fall to the bottom of the list—not because they aren't important, but because we're convinced we'll make time for them later.
In today's episode, Kerri shares personal stories about reconnecting over coffee, spontaneous girls' nights, and how those small moments of connection became exactly what she needed during one of the busiest seasons of her life.
She also shares practical, realistic ways to build friendships that actually fit into your life right now.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Why making friends gets harder as we get older
The mindset shift every busy mom needs about adult friendships
How to build friendships without adding more to your calendar
Why small moments of connection matter more than big plans
Simple ways to meet new people in places you're already going
How to overcome social anxiety or introversion when making friends
Why being the one who reaches out can change everything
How your "village" helps you become a better mom, wife, and professional
Friendships aren't built because we suddenly have more time. They're built because we decide the people are worth making time for.

Hi Mamas,
Do you ever find yourself saying...
"I'd love to spend more time with my friends... when life slows down."
As busy working moms, we're constantly juggling work, kids, marriage, household responsibilities, and endless to-do lists. It's easy to believe we'll invest in our relationships once we have more free time.
But what if stronger relationships aren't built because we suddenly have more time?
What if they're built because we intentionally make time for the people who matter most?
In this week's Monday Mindset, we're shifting the way we think about connection and reminding ourselves that even the smallest moments—a quick text, a phone call, a walk, or an hour over coffee—can strengthen the relationships that make life richer.
In this episode you'll discover:
❤️ Why waiting for life to "slow down" usually doesn't work
❤️ How small moments create meaningful relationships
❤️ Why intentional connection matters more than having extra time
❤️ This week's simple challenge to strengthen one relationship
If this episode encouraged you, share it with another working mom who could use the reminder.
And be sure to come back tomorrow as we continue this conversation with practical tips on how to make and maintain friendships as a busy working mom—even when you feel like you have no time.
💛 This Week's Challenge
Reach out to one person this week.
Send the text.
Make the call.
Plan the coffee date.
Schedule the walk.
Invite another couple over for dinner.
Or simply reconnect with someone you've been thinking about.
Because life is busy.
It always will be.
But the people we love deserve more than whatever time happens to be left over.

Hi Mamas,
Have you ever had an entire day ruined because one thing didn't go according to plan?
Maybe your workday blew up before lunch. Your kids started arguing before you'd even had your coffee. Dinner burned. Your vacation started with mosquito bites instead of beach chairs.
As working moms, we spend so much time planning our lives that we often forget one important truth...
Life rarely goes exactly as planned.
In today's episode, I'm sharing the story of my recent mother-daughter trip to the Dominican Republic with Ashley before she heads off to college. We had beautiful moments, unexpected challenges, and plenty of reminders that perfection isn't what creates our favorite memories.
I'll also share five simple mindset shifts that have helped me stop letting one frustrating moment steal an entire day.
In this episode we'll talk about:
✔️ Why one bad moment doesn't have to ruin your entire day
✔️ How unrealistic expectations create unnecessary stress
✔️ The simple question to ask yourself when life throws you a curveball
✔️ Why flexibility creates more peace than perfection
✔️ How to focus on the memories that matter most
If you're a busy working mom who wants to stop chasing perfect days and start enjoying the life that's happening right in front of you, this episode is for you.

Hi Mamas,
Have you ever reached the end of the day feeling like everything went wrong?
As busy working moms, it's easy to let one stressful meeting, one parenting challenge, or one unexpected inconvenience define our entire day. But what if we intentionally chose to focus on what went right instead?
In this week's Monday Mindset episode, I'm sharing a simple quote that's been on my heart lately:
"Every day holds a blessing. Don't let one hard moment make you miss it."
We'll talk about why our minds naturally focus on the negative, how practicing gratitude can completely shift our perspective, and one simple habit you can start today to help you notice the blessings that are already all around you.
In this episode, we'll discuss:
Why one difficult moment shouldn't define your entire day
How gratitude helps reduce stress and shift your mindset
Why every day can be both hard and beautiful at the same time
A simple question to ask yourself every evening
This week's Monday Mindset Challenge
This Week's Challenge
Before you go to bed each night this week, ask yourself:
"What was today's blessing?"
It doesn't have to be something big.
Maybe it was your morning coffee. A kind word from a friend. A hug from your child. A productive meeting. A quiet moment to yourself.
Train your mind to notice what's good, even on the hard days.
✨ If this episode encouraged you, I'd love for you to share it with another working mom who could use the reminder.
And don't forget to come back tomorrow for Part 2, where I'll share a personal story that brought this lesson to life in a way I wasn't expecting.

Hi Mamas,
For years, I've taught the famous rocks, pebbles, and sand time management analogy.
Put the big rocks in first.
Then everything else fits around them.
But during a recent Sunday homily, I heard one sentence that completely changed the way I've thought about that lesson for years:
"The first big rock should be God."
That simple statement connected a puzzle piece I didn't even realize was missing.
In this episode, I'm sharing:
Why this episode almost became a Monday Mindset
The story that started with my college dorm assignment and reminded me to trust God's plan
My personal Sunday mantra: "If I make time for God, God will make time for me."
How that mindset has changed my relationship with time
Why boundaries have become easier
Why I no longer believe everything depends on me
What faith looks like in our family
Why I believe faith is lived every day—not just inside a church building
The difference between being responsible... and believing you're responsible for everything
This is one of the most personal episodes I've ever shared, and my hope is simply that it encourages you to slow down, breathe, and remember that peace isn't found in doing more—it's found in letting go of what you were never meant to carry.
In This Episode We Cover
✨ Why your to-do list isn't always the problem
✨ The rocks, pebbles, and sand lesson that changed my perspective
✨ How faith has influenced my time management journey
✨ Why boundaries become easier when you stop trying to control everything
✨ The difference between productivity and peace
✨ Trusting the process when life doesn't go according to plan
✨ Modeling faith instead of forcing it
✨ Finding peace in busy seasons

Hi Mamas,
What are you carrying that was never yours to carry?
As working moms, we're often praised for doing it all.
We remember the appointments.
Manage the schedules.
Keep track of the grocery list.
Support our families.
Show up at work.
Take care of everyone else.
But somewhere along the way, many of us start believing that if we don't do everything...
Everything will fall apart.
In this week's Working Mom Mindset, we're talking about the invisible weight so many women carry every day… and why peace often begins when we learn to put some of that weight down.
In This Episode You'll Learn:
✨ Why overwhelmed working moms often carry more than they need to
✨ The difference between being responsible and believing you're responsible for everything
✨ How guilt keeps us carrying unnecessary burdens
✨ Why letting go isn't giving up
✨ A simple mindset shift to help you find more peace this week
This Week's Challenge
This week, I want you to pause for just a few minutes and ask yourself:
What am I carrying that was never mine to carry?
Is it:
Someone else's expectations?
Guilt?
Trying to make everyone happy?
Trying to control something that's outside your control?
Choose just one thing.
Practice putting it down this week.
Because peace doesn't always come from doing more.
Sometimes...
It comes from carrying less.

Hi Mamas,
In this special episode celebrating 25 years with my husband, Russ, I'm sharing our unexpected love story, the surprising way God brought us together, and the simple habits that have helped us stay connected through careers, raising three kids, work stress, college applications, and all the beautiful chaos of family life.

Hi Mamas,
As working moms, it's easy to spend our days taking care of everyone else. Work deadlines, kids' schedules, laundry, meals, errands, and endless to-do lists can quietly push our relationships to the bottom of the priority list.
In this week's Monday Mindset, we're talking about one simple but powerful truth:
"Love grows best in the spaces we intentionally make for it."
If you've been feeling disconnected from your spouse or wondering where the spark has gone, this episode is a reminder that strong relationships aren't built by waiting for life to slow down—they're built by intentionally creating moments of connection, even during life's busiest seasons.
Tomorrow, I'll be celebrating 25 years with my husband, Russ, and sharing our love story along with the habits that have helped us stay connected through work, raising three kids, and all of life's beautiful chaos.
In This Episode, We Cover
❤️ Why busy seasons can unintentionally push your marriage to the back burner
❤️ The difference between making time and waiting to have time
❤️ Why intentional connection matters more than grand romantic gestures
❤️ Small ways to reconnect with your spouse this week
❤️ A simple challenge to help you prioritize your relationship
This Week's Challenge
Take 10 intentional, uninterrupted minutes with your spouse or partner.
No phones.
No TV.
No talking about schedules, bills, or the kids.
Just be together.
Because love grows best in the spaces we intentionally make for it.

Hi Mamas,
Have you ever found yourself advocating fiercely for your kids, your family, or your team… but struggling to speak up for yourself?
You're not alone.
In this episode, I'm sharing a lesson that life has been reminding me of lately: advocating for yourself isn't asking for special treatment—it's communicating what you need so you can continue showing up at your best without burning yourself out.
Between Ashley's prom, graduation, college orientation, Kaylee's Sweet 16, a mother-daughter trip, the podcast, and my corporate job, this season of life has been BUSY. And recently I was reminded just how important it is to communicate early, set expectations, and stop assuming people know what we need.
If you've ever felt overwhelmed, stretched too thin, afraid to speak up, or worried about how advocating for yourself might be perceived at work, this episode is for you.
In This Episode, I Share:
💛 Why advocating for yourself is not asking for special treatment
💛 How communicating early can reduce stress and prevent burnout
💛 The importance of getting clear on what you actually need
💛 Why bringing solutions instead of complaints leads to better conversations
💛 How fear and assumptions keep so many women silent
💛 A personal story about the moment I finally stopped staying quiet and started speaking my truth at work
💛 Why trust and consistency make workplace flexibility easier
💛 How boundaries and career success can absolutely coexist
💛 Simple ways to start advocating for yourself with confidence

Hi Mamas,
As working moms, many of us take pride in doing our jobs well.
We show up.
We work hard.
We care deeply about the quality of our work.
And whether we absolutely love our jobs or simply see them as a way to provide for our families, many of us have something in common:
We don't know how to stop.
In today's Monday Mindset, I'm sharing a powerful reminder that has been on my heart lately:
You can be committed to your career without being consumed by it.
This episode isn't just for the moms who are passionate about their careers. It's also for the moms who show up every day, do their best, take pride in being high performers, and carry a lot of responsibility—both at work and at home.
We'll talk about the difference between being committed and being consumed, why so many working moms struggle to separate the two, and how to create more space for the life you're working so hard to build.
Because at the end of the day, your career is part of your life.
It shouldn't become your entire life.
💛 In This Episode, You'll Learn:
The difference between being committed to your career and being consumed by it
Why high-achieving working moms often struggle with boundaries
How work can quietly take up more mental space than we realize
Why success doesn't have to come at the expense of your family or personal life
The mindset shift that can help you create more balance and presence
How to build a career that supports your life instead of running it
💛 This Week's Challenge
Ask yourself:
Am I committed to my career... or am I being consumed by it?
Then identify one small boundary you can put in place this week.
Maybe it's:
Logging off on time
Not checking email after dinner
Taking your lunch break
Using PTO you've been putting off
Being fully present with your family after work
Small changes create big shifts.

Hi Mamas,
Have you ever closed your laptop after a stressful day at work only to find yourself replaying emails, meetings, and conversations long after the workday ended?
In today's episode, I'm sharing something that's been weighing heavily on my heart.
Work has been stressful lately.
At the exact same time, life has been incredibly full in the best possible way.
My oldest daughter is graduating high school.
We're navigating prom, college orientation, dorm shopping, and preparing for a huge life transition.
My middle daughter just turned sixteen.
And somehow my youngest is only one month away from becoming a teenager.
This season has reminded me of something important:
💛 Work will always have another problem to solve. 💛 Another deadline. 💛 Another meeting.
But this version of our children only exists once.
In this episode, we're talking about how to recover from difficult days at work without letting them steal your joy, your peace, or your presence at home.
INSIDE THIS EPISODE:
✔️ Why one bad day at work doesn't define you ✔️ How to stop carrying the emotional weight of work into your evenings ✔️ The truth about imposter syndrome and self-doubt ✔️ How criticism can trigger the "I'm not enough" spiral ✔️ Why protecting your peace is just as important as meeting your deadlines ✔️ A powerful question that will help you stay present in the season you're living right now ✔️ How to focus on how you want a season to feel instead of just what you want to accomplish
THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE:
Identify one beautiful thing happening in your life right now.
Then ask yourself:
✨ How do I want this season to feel?
And...
✨ What am I carrying that I need to let go of so I can fully experience it?
Because mama, these are the moments you'll miss someday.
Let's make sure we don't miss them while they're happening.

Hi Mamas,
Have you ever found yourself saying:
👉 "I'll feel better when I lose the weight."
👉 "I'll wear that when I get back to my goal weight."
👉 "I'll be more confident when I look different."
👉 "I'll enjoy myself more when..."
If so, you're not alone.
In this Monday Mindset episode, I walk about my own journey with weight loss, weight gain, confidence, and body image.
After working hard to lose weight a few years ago, I share how some of that weight slowly crept back on through the busyness of life, stress, and changing hormones... and howI realized she was allowing her insecurities to take up far too much space in her mind.
This episode is a powerful reminder that so many of us are waiting for some future version of ourselves before we give ourselves permission to fully enjoy our lives.
But the truth is:
Your life is not on hold until you lose the weight.
The memories, opportunities, laughter, and moments that matter most are happening right now.
In this episode, you'll learn why confidence isn't about reaching a number on the scale, how perfection keeps us stuck, and why learning to be present matters so much more than chasing impossible standards.
In this episode you’ll learn…
✔ Why so many women unknowingly put their happiness on hold
✔ Kerri's personal story about losing weight, gaining some of it back, and navigating changing confidence
✔ The hidden cost of waiting until you feel "good enough"
✔ Why perfection is a moving target
✔ How body image can steal your presence and joy
✔ The difference between confidence and self-acceptance
✔ Why the moments you'll remember most have nothing to do with your weight
✔ A simple mindset shift to help you stop postponing your life
My Challenge for you this week, mamas:
Ask yourself:
What have I been putting off while I wait to feel good enough?
Then choose one small action and do it anyway.
📸 Get in the picture.
👙 Wear the bathing suit.
☀️ Go to the pool.
✈️ Book the trip.
📝 Sign up for the class.
💡 Start the thing you've been thinking about.
Because your life isn't waiting.
It's happening right now.
And you deserve to be fully present for it.

Hi Mamas,
Have you ever avoided a photo, skipped a pool day, dreaded a vacation, or put your life on hold because you weren't happy with your body?
In this episode I talk about one of my biggest insecurities… weight gain, cellulite, and how I almost let my body image steal the joy from a bucket-list trip to Las Vegas with Russ. After a terrifying emergency landing put life into perspective, I realized just how much time and energy I’ve wasted worrying about what other people might think.
If you've ever struggled with confidence, comparison, body image, people-pleasing, or feeling like you need to lose weight before you can fully enjoy your life, this episode is for you.
You'll learn how to stop letting other people's opinions dictate your happiness and start living, experiencing, and making memories right now.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE COVER:
Why caring what other people think keeps so many women stuck• The connection between body image and self-worth• How weight gain, perimenopause, and physical changes can impact confidence • The powerful perspective shift that came from a terrifying emergency landing • Why most people aren't thinking about you nearly as much as you think they are • How to stop waiting to lose the weight before you start living your life • The difference between seeking approval and building true confidence • Why healthy boundaries can help you stop carrying the weight of other people's expectations • How to become more present for the moments and memories that matter most

Hi Mamas,
Do you ever open social media for "just a minute" and somehow end up feeling like you're behind?
Behind on motherhood.Behind on your goals.Behind on your housework.Behind on life.
You're not alone.
Today we're talking about the pressure of social media, the comparison trap so many moms fall into, and the powerful reminder that we are often comparing our real lives to someone else's carefully curated highlight reel.
I share my own struggles with social media as both a mom and a coach, why healthy boundaries around technology matter, and how comparison can quietly steal our joy, confidence, and presence without us even realizing it.
If you've ever found yourself questioning whether you're doing enough after scrolling social media, this episode is for you.
In This Episode We Discuss:
Why social media comparison is so common among moms• How comparison quietly steals joy and shifts our focus• The difference between real life and online highlight reels• Why even coaches and business owners struggle with comparison• The importance of creating healthy boundaries with social media• How to protect your peace and stay present in your own life• A simple mindset shift to help you stop feeling like you're falling behind
This Week's Quote:
"Don't compare your real life to someone else's highlight reel."
💛 My challenge for you this week, mamas…
📲 Pay attention to when comparison creeps in this week.
📲 When you notice it, pause.
📲 Put the phone down.
Look around at your real life, your family, your blessings, and the season you're currently living in.
Remind yourself that you were never meant to keep up with everyone else. You were meant to be present for your own life.
👉 Come share what mindset shift helped you this week in our free Facebook community Work-Life Balance For Working Moms and help inspire other moms just like you!
